Section 1
The father of a single son, who happened to be mentally challenged and incapable of gaining knowledge, was an elderly count residing in Switzerland, the count expressed to his son: "Listen closely, my son, no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to make you comprehend anything."
"You must depart from here, and I will entrust you to the tutelage of a renowned expert, who will attempt to educate you," said the father. The youngster was subsequently dispatched to an unfamiliar city where he spent an entire year under the master's guidance. Subsequent to the completion of his studies, the young man returned home where his father inquired, "What knowledge have you acquired, my son?" To which he replied, "Father, I have learned the language of dogs when they bark." Hearing this, the father exclaimed, "Heaven help us! Is that the only thing you have learned? I shall arrange for you to study under another master in a different town."
The father then arranged for the youth to travel to the new destination and study under another master for a year. Upon the youth's return, the father once again inquired: "My son, what knowledge have you gained this time?" The youth responded, "Father, I have learned the language of birds." Hearing this, the father became furious and exclaimed, "You foolish man! You have squandered valuable time and gained nothing. Aren't you ashamed to face me? I will arrange for you to study under a third master, but if you fail to learn anything this time, I will disown you." The young man stayed under the tutelage of the third master for a complete year as well. Upon his return, the father asked, "My son, what have you learned this time?" The youth responded, "Dear father, this year I have acquired the knowledge of the language spoken by frogs." Upon hearing this, the father was filled with intense anger, he immediately stood up and summoned his servants. He then exclaimed: "This individual is no longer my offspring. I disown him and order you to escort him to the forest and execute him," the father commanded his servants. They led the youth to the woods, but when they were supposed to end his life, they could not bring themselves to do it due to compassion. Instead, they released him and cut out the eyes and tongue of a deer to present as proof of his demise to the father.
