Section 1
Once there was a miller who had a lovely daughter, when she became an adult, he desired for her to be taken care of and married to a good spouse. The miller pondered that in the event a decent and eligible suitor were to arrive and express interest in marrying his daughter, he would consent to the union. Shortly thereafter, a potential groom arrived who seemed to be quite wealthy, as the miller found no flaws with him, he pledged his daughter's hand in marriage to him. However, the young woman did not hold the same level of affection for him as a fiancée should have for her future husband, and lacked trust in him. Every time she encountered or thought of him, she experienced an undisclosed sense of dread. On one occasion, he expressed to her, "You are my fiancée, and yet you have never come to visit me." In response, the young woman said, "I do not know the location of your home." The groom then stated, "My house is located in the dark forest out yonder." The bride attempted to explain that she was unable to locate the way there. The groom replied, "You must come out there to me next Sunday, I have already invited the guests, and I will scatter ashes along the path so that you can navigate your way through the forest." As Sunday arrived and it was time for the young woman to embark on her journey, she became quite anxious without a clear reason, to create a trail for herself, she packed her pockets with peas and lentils. The groom had spread ashes at the beginning of the forest path, which she followed, dropping a couple of peas on the ground at each step to mark her route. She walked for nearly the entire day until she arrived at the center of the forest where it was the darkest, and there was a lone house that she found unappealing due to its gloomy and dreary appearance. She entered the house, but found no one inside and complete silence pervaded the atmosphere.
Unexpectedly, a voice cried out, "Turn back, turn back, dear young maiden! You are entering the abode of a murderer!" The young woman gazed up and discovered that the voice emanated from a caged bird hanging on the wall. The bird repeated its warning, "Turn back, turn back, dear young maiden! You are entering the abode of a murderer!"

You are entering the abode of a murderer!"The old woman explained, "See, I have been compelled to place a large kettle filled with water on the stove. If they catch you, they will cut you into pieces without any mercy, cook you, and feast upon your flesh, for they are cannibals." "If I do not show you mercy and rescue you, then you are doomed,"
The elderly woman then guided her to a hidden spot behind a large barrel where she could not be seen. The old woman instructed the young maiden to remain completely quiet and motionless, comparing her to a mouse, as any noise or movement could lead to her discovery and demise. We will wait until the robbers are asleep at night, and then we'll escape, I have been waiting for an opportunity to do so for a long time. Hardly was this done, than the godless crew came home. Another young girl was dragged along with them. They showed no concern for her cries and distress as they were inebriated.
