Section 1
Once upon a time, a prince felt a strong urge to explore the world and decided to bring along only a loyal servant. While journeying, they reached a vast forest, and as night fell, they were unable to find any place to stay and had no idea where to spend the night. As he approached, he noticed a young and beautiful girl walking towards a small house. He addressed her, "My dear child, could my servant and I find accommodation for the night in that small house?" "Certainly," the girl replied, sadly. "However, I caution you against it. It's not advisable to enter." The King's son inquired, "Why shouldn't we?" The maiden let out a sigh and responded, "My step-mother practices dark magic and is hostile to outsiders." The King's son realized he had arrived at a witch's house but, unable to continue on his journey in the dark, and not being afraid, he decided to enter. Seated in an armchair by the fire, the old woman gazed at the stranger with her crimson eyes. "Good evening," she growled, feigning friendliness. "Please have a seat and rest." She then proceeded to blow on the fire, where she was cooking something in a small pot. The daughter cautioned the two to be careful and avoid eating or drinking anything as the old woman concocted malicious potions. They slept peacefully until dawn. As they were preparing to leave and the King's son had mounted his horse, the old woman interjected, "Wait a moment, let me give you a farewell drink." As she went to fetch it, the King's son rode off, leaving only his servant behind to fasten the saddle. The wicked witch returned with the drink, but only the servant was present. "Take this to your master," she said. But at that moment, the glass shattered, and the poison splattered onto the horse, which was so potent that the animal collapsed and died on the spot. The servant chased after his master and recounted what had occurred but refused to abandon the saddle and returned to retrieve it. However, when he arrived at the deceased horse, a raven was already perched on it, consuming its flesh. "Who knows if we'll discover anything better today?" the servant asked. Consequently, he killed the raven and brought it along. They proceeded to venture through the forest for the entire day but were unable to exit it.
As night fell, they came across an inn and went inside. The servant handed over the raven to the innkeeper for supper. Little did they know, they had stumbled upon a hideout of murderers, and during the night, twelve of them arrived with the intention of murdering and robbing the strangers. Before they commenced their nefarious plan, they sat down for supper, the innkeeper and the witch joined them, and they all partook in a soup dish that included the raven's flesh. But as soon as they had taken a few bites, they all perished. The raven had transmitted the poison from the horse's flesh, causing their deaths. Only the innkeeper's daughter remained in the house. She was virtuous and had not participated in their wicked deeds. The innkeeper's daughter unlocked all doors and revealed the treasures that were piled up. However, the King's son refused to take any of it, allowing her to keep everything, he and his servant then proceeded to ride onwards.
