Section 1
Once upon a time, there was a princess who had an exceedingly haughty demeanor. Whenever a suitor approached her, she would give him a difficult riddle to solve, and if he failed to do so, she would dismiss him with disdain. She also announced that whoever managed to solve her riddle would be granted her hand in marriage, regardless of his social standing. Eventually, three tailors came across each other. The older two were confident in their ability to solve the princess's riddle, having completed many intricate works before. The third was a small and insignificant landlubber who lacked any discernible tailoring skills. Nevertheless, he believed he could be lucky enough to succeed where others had failed. The two others said directly to the little tailor, "Just stay at home. You can't achieve much with your limited understanding."Despite the discouragement from the two others, the little tailor remained steadfast in his determination. He proclaimed that he had devoted his mind to this task and would succeed. With a confident demeanor, he set out as though he had the whole world at his feet.
The three of them approached the princess and informed her that they were there to hear her riddle. They claimed that they were the right people for the job, as their intellects were so sharp that they could be threaded through the eye of a needle. The princess asked, "I have two types of hair on my head. What color is it?" The first man replied confidently, "If that's all it is, then it must be black and white, similar to the cloth known as 'pepper and salt'."The princess refuted the first man's guess, stating that it was wrong, and then turned to the second man to hear his answer. The second man responded with conviction, "If it's not black and white, then it must be brown and red, akin to my father's company coat." The princess declared, "The second guess was incorrect. Let the third person provide the answer, as it appears evident that he knows it for sure." The confident little tailor then spoke up and said, "I can state with certainty that the princess has two different colored hairs on her head, one being silver and the other being golden." Upon hearing the little tailor's response, the princess became frightened and almost fainted. She had thought that no one could solve her riddle, and the fact that the little tailor did so made her turn pale. However, once she regained her composure, she spoke up again and said, "Your success with the riddle does not yet win my hand. There is another task that you must accomplish." "The task I have in mind for you," continued the princess, "is to spend the night in the stable with a bear. If you are still alive in the morning, then you may marry me." The princess believed that the bear would surely kill the little tailor, as no one had ever survived an encounter with the bear before. However, the little tailor was not intimidated and instead felt quite pleased with this challenge, saying, "I'm already halfway to victory just by taking this bold step."
