Sweet Porridge

A young girl who was both impoverished and virtuous lived with her mother as their food supply had depleted. The girl entered the woods and encountered an elderly woman who noticed her sadness. The woman gave the girl a small pot that could cook delicious and sweet porridge when she said "cook, little pot, cook," and stop cooking when she said "stop, little pot." The girl brought the pot back to her mother, and they were able to overcome their poverty and hunger, they could now enjoy sweet porridge as much as they desired. One day, when the girl was away, her mother said, "cook, little pot, cook," and it started cooking. She ate until she was full, but she didn't know how to make the pot stop cooking. The pot kept cooking and the porridge kept rising until it overflowed from the pot and filled up the kitchen and the entire house. It continued to cook, filling up the next house and eventually the entire street, it seemed as if the pot wanted to feed the hunger of the whole world, causing a great amount of distress, however, no one knew how to stop it. Finally, when there was only one house left untouched by the porridge, the girl returned home and uttered the phrase "stop, little pot," causing it to cease cooking, those who wanted to go back to the town had to eat their way through the porridge-filled streets.
