Begining
There’s a special person named Ole-Luk-Oie who knows a lot of stories and tells them in a very nice way. At night, when kids are sitting at the table or in their chairs, he comes up the stairs quietly in his socks. He opens the doors without making any noise and sprinkles a little bit of special dust in their eyes so they can’t keep them open. This makes it so the kids can't see him, but then Ole-Luk-Oie tells them wonderful stories while they sleep.
After sprinkling the special dust, Ole-Luk-Oie quietly moves behind the children and blows softly on their necks until their heads start to fall down. But Ole-Luk-Oie doesn’t want to harm them because he really likes children. He only wants them to be calm and relaxed so that he can tell them wonderful stories. And the children usually only become calm and fall asleep when they are in bed. Once the children are fast asleep, Ole-Luk-Oie sits down on their bed. He looks very nice, wearing a coat made of a special silky material that keeps changing color. It can be green one minute, red the next, and blue after that! It’s hard to say exactly what color it is because it keeps changing. Ole-Luk-Oie holds an umbrella under each arm. He opens up the first umbrella, which has special pictures on the inside, and holds it over the good children while they sleep. This makes them dream the most wonderful and beautiful stories all night long. The other umbrella doesn’t have any pictures, and he holds it over the naughty children. This makes them sleep very deeply, but they won’t have any dreams at all when they wake up in the morning.
